Aspicilia contorta (Hoffm.) Krempelh.
Thallus schollig bis areoliert, grau bis oliv, oft weißlich bereift. Vorlager undeutlich, Lager ohne Sorale. Apothecien schwarz, aber weißlich bereift und eingesenkt in Lager. Epihymenium dunkel grün. Sporen hyalin, breitellipsoid bis fast kugelig, 2-6/Ascus, 1-zellig, 20-30 x 15-25 μm. Chemie: K-, C-, KC-, P-
Mir ist bewusst das Aspicilia contorta in Circinaria contorta umbenannt wurde. Bei mir im Herbar bleibt diese weiterhin Aspicilia contorta

Note. Circinaria contorta was not included in the analysis because we did not manage to get both nuLSU and mtSSU sequences from it. In the analyses based on ITS (Nordin et al. 2007) however it grouped with the other species here combined into Circinaria. It contains aspicilin, and the asci have a reduced number of round to broadly ellipsoid, relatively large spores, (17.6–)20.6–24.8(–27,5) 3 (14.3–)16.9–20.9(–22) mm.
